#189 – Did Anyone Ask the Developers?
Ideally, going agile maximizes the time developers can spend on building the right thing the right way. Lately, however, we’ve moved far away from the developer-centric roots of agile and, instead, on processes and rituals, big room planning and synchronization meetings, and scaled demos and retrospectives that, often, feel irrelevant for the individual developer.
Instead, focus on the fun parts of agile for the developers if you want them onboard: hackathons, Design Sprints, Improvement Mondays, new technology, Social Programming, DevOps thinking and tooling, etc. Let’s remember that the developers are actually the ones delivering the value, all the rest of us are here to help them—and not disturb them.
