#89 – The Force

SAFe and Scrum are not opposite forces; in SAFe, Scrum(XP) is the way of working in the teams, along with Kanban, and SAFe then adds some structure on top of the teams. What we need is a nuanced discussion on the role of SAFe, as it comes with a trade-off between having overhead and creating flow across dependent teams. As we go, let’s just remember to reduce the amount of overhead by eliminating the dependencies, and that SAFe is just a stop on the journey of continuous improvement of our enterprise.
