#98 – Agile Budgeting

If your organization allocates funds once a year (and you cannot change that into cost-based funding), work towards making it acceptable to change the allocations as everyone gets wiser, and towards not planning in detail exactly what needs to be delivered the next year.

Alternatively, allocate funds on a sufficiently high level (e.g., Value Streams or products) instead of specific epics or features. Thus, the teams (of teams) will be funded as per their costs, but their exact work is kept open to the market needs and will be planned as they go.
