#155 – Raising Impediments

Of course, impediments should be brought up and fixed as soon as possible, and not wait to be addressed at the Daily Scrum, the purpose of which, according to the Scrum Guide, is ‘to inspect progress toward the Sprint Goal and adapt the Sprint Backlog as necessary, adjusting the upcoming planned work’. 

Also, the updated Scrum Guide from 2020 states that the Scrum Master ‘causes the removal of impediments to the Scrum Team’s progress’, so it’s totally fine that Developers communicate the impediment to the Scrum Master, but if they already know about it before the Daily Scrum, there’s no reason to delay the removal of it.

Just remember that nowhere is it stated that it has to be the Scrum Master that removes impediments.
